Delete your account and data

This page explains how to delete your GotNext account, run by Denis WebStudio, and exactly what happens to your data when you do.

Delete it in the app (fastest)

  1. Open GotNext and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your account and data are erased right away.

What gets erased

Deleting your account erases the personal data tied to you:

  • Your profile (display name, bio, height, positions, playstyle, goals, vibe).
  • Your uploaded profile photo and banner.
  • Your check-ins and court-visit (run) history.
  • Your friendships and your blocks.
  • Your MVP votes, your spot in any run lineups, and your feedback.
  • Your notification tokens and the notices created about you.
  • Your Clerk login (email, username, password, and any 2FA details), so you can no longer sign in.
  • Product analytics are switched off on your device and further collection stops.

If you are a team captain, captaincy passes to another member first so a team is never left stranded. A team left with no members is deleted along with you.

What is retained, and why

  • Shared scene history. Runs and games that happened, results, and challenges stay in other people's records. Where they reference you, the reference becomes an inactive identifier with no profile attached.
  • Moderation records. Reports you filed, or reports filed about you, may be kept as part of our safety audit trail, to keep the community safe and to handle legal claims. These are kept no longer than necessary.
  • Opt-in analytics held by PostHog. If you had turned on analytics, those records are not erased instantly by the in-app deletion. We erase them on request (within 30 days). Just ask using the email route below.

Cannot open the app? Request deletion by email

If you cannot use the in-app route for any reason, email privacy@gotnext.uk and ask us to delete your account. So we can find your account and verify it is yours, please include:

  • The email address on your GotNext account.
  • Your username, if you remember it.
  • The subject line "Delete my GotNext account".

We will verify your request and delete your account and data, normally within 30 days. We may email you back to confirm before we erase anything, to make sure we are deleting the right account.
